5 most annoying things about iOS 10 and how to fix them

iOS 10 is the biggest iOS release ever with tons of new features that change how you use your iPhone ranging from rich lock screen notifications to better Maps. However, iOS 10 also comes with some annoyances that may put you off. The best shot for removing all the annoyances is to downgrade your device to iOS 9.3.5, but doing this way wastes your time and may put you at risk of losing important data.

Fortunately, there is a simple workaround you can use to get rid of these annoying things. If you are here now, keep reading to find down how

  1. Press Home to unlock your phone

If you cannot get over the fact that Apple has removed the classic “Slide to unlock” feature, believe me that you are not the only one. From the very first moment you have got iOS 10 installed on your device, you will see a message that “Press Home to unlock”, something that you have never seen before on an iPhone.

Unfortunately, if you are expecting a simple way to get back the Slide to Unlock method, sorry because we don’t offer that. However, you now can use Touch ID to unlock your phone. To do this, you can head to Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button and toggle on the switch next to “Rest Finger to Open”. From now on, your iPhone will be unlocked by resting your finger on the home button.

  1. Disable Reduce Motion

With iOS 10, Apple poured a lot of love in its Messages app, making it much easier and quicker for users to communicate with their friends and family. Sending iMesage effects is a great addition to iOS 10 Messages app, but at times it becomes an annoying thing, as many users cannot send iMessage effects or view the ones received from their friends when updating to iOS 10. The best shot for fixing the issue is to turn off Reduce Motion. You can do that by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.

  1. Raise to Wake

Raise to Wake is a nice feature in iOS 10 that automatically wakes your phone’s screen every time you pick it up. However, it also annoys you, as it sometimes wakes up your screen when you least expect. Luckily, there is an option to turn it off. You can do this by heading to Settings, select Display & Brightness and toggle off the switch.

  1. Handwriting mode

In iOS 10, Apple has added a new feature to the Messages app dubbed handwriting that lets you send your handwritten messages to your friends. However, it is also annoying because it automatically launches every time your iPhone is in Landscape mode.

You can turn it off by tapping the keyboard icon in the bottom-right corner of the keyboard while your iPhone is in landscape orientation.

  1. iMessage apps auto install

With iOS 10, Apple has finally opened the Messages app for third-party developers. This means that you can down and install apps directly from your messaging thread, eliminating the need to leave the app. However, this comes with an annoyance. Accordingly, if an app has an extension available, it will be added automatically to your iMessage apps drawer without your permission.

You can turn it off by following the steps below:

Step one: Launch the Messages app and tap on the App icon

Step two: Tap on four circle, then tap on Store. After that select Manage tab and turn off Automatically Add Apps

That’s it! These are five annoying things about iOS 10. Fortunately, all of them can be fixed by toggling their Settings.
