How To Block Unwanted YouTube Videos

Keeping your children safe is very important. So, it’s necessary to talk about a number of parental control methods. They can help parents keep adult content and other inappropriate stuff out of reach of kids, who are still young to know about that. However, most of the current blocking methods cannot block specific website content.

Blocking it cannot make sense since it can miss out on the important stuff. So what to do to keep your children safe while browsing YouTube? The answer here is to use the inbuilt YouTube Restricted Mode, which was previously as YouTube Safety Mode. It’s a nice way to filter out content from YouTube that you don’t want your children to watch.

Restricted Mode works on both browsers and YouTube app, you need to enable it for each browser you use. In addition, it needs to be turned on for each profile.

Steps to Block Unwanted YouTube Videos on Android

You can block channels on the YouTube app or block your desired videos on YouTube Kids. After that, follow the step-by-step guide below.

Configure YouTube Kids App

If you don’t trust the prior extensions or native methods, you can download the YouTube Kids app from Google Play Store. The app comes with a range of funny videos, along with other educational and music videos for your kids, depending on their age. But, all is not hearty in this kids world and there are a few chances that inappropriate videos can make their way to them. You can also block inappropriate videos on YouTube Kids as well. To do so:

Step 1: Tap on the three-dot icon next to any video, which you feel unsuitable, and then choose Block video.

Step 2: To block unwanted channels, you can tap on the channel. After you enter it, tap on the three-dot menu at the top of the screen and choose Block Channel section. That’s done!

Although the software algorithms can do their job well, you should still keep a watchful eye when your children are watching videos on a mobile phone or tablet. At the end of the day, some will beat the human factor.
