Facebook launches Messenger Day worldwide

1Facebook is undoubtedly the most popular social network out there. Facebook now has more than one billion users and it seems to me that the number never stops. The social network has been rolling out major updates recently to retain its leading position in the market and continues its intensive fight against other competitors.

Facebook today launched Messenger Day for all its users worldwide, a nice addition to Facebook this year. In reality, Facebook’s Messenger Day was first introduced in October last year and it was initially available for testing purposes in some markets. Messenger Day is something similar to Snapchat Stories or WhatsApp Status and lets you post photos and videos throughout the day that automatically disappear after 24 hours.

Like Snapchat, Facebook’s Messenger Day offers a variety of filters and tools that you can use to edit your photos and videos before sharing them to all your friends or only your selected friends. According to Facebook, you can use up to 5,000 stickers, effects and frames to make your videos and photos more interesting. Besides, you can add photos and videos you receive in the thread on Facebook Messenger. When your friends send you a video or photo, you will be presented with an option to “add to your day”.

Facebook’s Messenger Day is said to be less intuitive than Snapchat and Instagram Stories, as users need to manually write text first, while they can easily do the same thing in Snapchat and Instagram thanks to an option that automatically shows up when they tap the screen.

According to Facebook, Messenger Day will be available right within Facebook Messenger app, so all you need to do is to update the app to the latest version to access the new feature.

Facebook has recently introduced some Snapchat-clone features. The social network launched Instagram Stories, which is seen to be an exact copy of Snapchat Story. There is still no reason behind this, but we now have something cool to use.
