Google to launch 2nd-gen Chromecast, with new design and features

Google has just started sending out invitations for a special event in San Francisco on September 29. At the event the tech giant is expected to announced its new Android 6.0, new Nexus phones and according to the latest rumors, a brand new Chromecast.

According to a leaked internal document the second-generation Chromecast will probably be bigger than its predecessor and carry a new circular design. The rumor also suggest that the new device will be available in few new colors, including the traditional black, a bright yellow and red.

Inside the next-gen Chromecast you will find an improved Wi-Fi hardware. The leaked document also reveals something new that is called “content feeds,” which could simply give you the ability to add a live feed of information from social media as your Chromecast screensaver. Last, a new feature called “Chromecast Audio” will allow you plug a speaker directly into the new device and control it with your smartphone wirelessly. The device is also expected to offer Spotify support along with a handful of other services.
