Here is everything that is new in iOS 10.2

It has been a while since Apple officially launched iOS 10 to the public. iOS 10 comes with a slew of new exciting features ranging from a redesigned lock screen to Raise to wake. Earlier this week, Apple released the developer beta of iOS 10.2, a worthwhile update to Apple’s mobile operating system.

iOS 10.2 may not bring in a big change like what we have already seen on iOS 10.1 with Portrait Mode, which is exclusive to the iPhone 7 Plus, but it adds some noteworthy features including new screen effect, new emoji and more.

In this post, we will walk your through everything that is new in iOS 10.2 developer beta

  1. Videos widget

iOS 10.2 adds a brand new widget for Apple’s stock Videos app, which can be accessed by swiping to the right-hand side of the screen. The new widget now includes TV shows and movies, and all you have to do is to select your favorite ones, and enjoy.

  1. Apple Music

With iOS 10, Apple Music has seen a major design change, making it cleaner and more visually appealing. In iOS 10.2, Apple Music now includes new options to sort music right within the app; you now can sort your music by recently added, types, and titles. There are also new options for sorting songs by artists and albums.

  1. Emergency Contact

In iOS 10.2, the emergency contacts you have set up on your iPhone will be notified every time you enable the Emergency SOS feature. Emergency SOS is a nice feature that allows you to send your current location to emergency personnel and it will alert your loved ones that you are in trouble.

  1. Preserve Camera settings

With iOS 10.2, you can preserve Mode, Live Photo, or Filter in your stock camera app. You can access “Preserve Settings” in the Settings App under “Photos & Camera.”

  1. Screen effects

iOS 10.2 adds a brand new “Celebrate” Screen Effect, which can be accessed right within the Messages app when adding an effect to your message.

  1. Emoji

With iOS 10.2, Apple introduces more than a hundred new emoji and redesigns some existing ones. The new emoji cover several profession emoji for both males and females including lawyer, doctor, scientist, and more.

iOS 10.2 is really worth your time, and it is now only available for registered developers, but the public beta may arrive soon.
