Here is how to have Siri read screen text to you on iPhone or iPad

With iOS 10, Siri is now smarter and more useful than ever. Apple’s virtual helper can do a lot more things thanks to its third-party integration including the ability to send messages with third-party apps, hire a ride, or announce an incoming call. There is another cool Siri functionality you may not know about, which is the ability to read anything that shows up on the screen of your iPhone or iPad. It could be a web page, an article, or an email, and as long as it is open on the screen, Siri will read it out loud.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to get Siri to read anything that is open on the display of your iPhone or iPad

To unlock the skill that allows Siri to read out loud whatever shows up on your phone’s screen, you need to activate a feature called speak screen. Here we go

Steps to make Siri read screen text to you on iPhone or iPad

Step one: First and foremost, you need to head to the Settings app from your home screen. Once you are in, tap General and go to Accessibility to proceed

Step two: Next up, all you have to do now is to turn on the switch next to “Speak Screen” to enable the feature

Step three: Exit the Settings like you always do

Step four: Open anything on your iPhone or iPad on the screen (a webpage, messages, email and even Settings screen). Once you are done, activate Siri and say “Speak Screen” and Siri will read all screen contents on the screen out loud

Step five: When Siri is reading the screen, you can adjust the reading speed or have Siri stop reading by using the on-screen controls

That’s it! From now on, all you have to do is load a webpage and Siri will read it out loud. This may come in handy,  especially when you are in a situation where you are in the middle of something or you simply don’t want to read what shows up on the screen.
