Here is how to make WhatsApp video calls on iPhone

WhatsApp is one of the most used messaging services in the world. One of the missing things when it comes to Facebook’s instant messaging client is video call feature, something you have been familiar with on Skype or Facebook Messenger.


Last month, WhatsApp rolled out video-calling feature for beta testers in an attempt to collect feedback that helps company in improving its service ahead of the public version. WhatsApp has finally made its video-calling feature available to all users across iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. This means that you now can have a video chat with anyone using WhatsApp. Cool, isn’t it?

In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to make WhatsApp video calls on iPhone. Before we begin, make sure that you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your device. If not, head to App Store and update the app before moving ahead

Steps to make WhatsApp video calls on iPhone

Note that WhatsApp only supports one-to-one video call, so don’t try to make a group video call.

Step one: Once you are have updated the WhatsApp app, all you have to do now is to open a conversation with the person you wish to have a video chat.

Step two: Once you are done, you will see the camera icon at the top of the screen and you just need to click on it.

Step three: If your friends now have the latest version of WhatsApp, the connecting screen will show up. If not, an error message will appear and you will not be able to make a video chat with your friends.

Step four: Once you are connected, you will see your friend’s camera view on your screen and your camera view located on the top-right corner of the screen

Step five: You will see three controls on the screen including switching between cameras, end call and mute call

Step six: You can continue to chat in WhatsApp while making a video call by swiping down in the camera view to access the floating circle view. If you quit the app, the video call will be terminated.
