Here is how you can force quit apps on a Touch Bar Mac

104Last year, Apple introduced a significant update to its MacBook Pro family. The 2016 MacBook Pro serves as the most powerful machine Apple has ever made thanks to its hardware upgrades. One of the most noticeable additions to Apple’s new MacBook Pro models lies in a brand new Touch Bar, which sits at top of the keyboard and replaces the traditional function keys.

Basically, the new Touch Bar offers users quick access to key navigation keys and commands on their Mac. However, there are still several new things you can do with the Touch Bar on your MacBook. In this case, you can use the Touch bar to force quit apps that are not responding on your Mac. However, there are times when the Touch Bar is not working on your Mac so you cannot access the Escape key to force quit the app.

Luckily, there is a simple workaround to force quit apps on Touch Bar Macs without the need for the virtual Escape key. We will show you how to do that.

Steps to force quit apps on the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

Before we begin, note that you can use the below-mentioned method to force quit an app that is not responding or crashing on a Touch Bar Mac without a hardware Escape key.

Step one: Make sure that you are now in the app that needs to be force quit. You simply need to pull down the Apple Menu and then select Force Quit from the menu options

Step two: Next up, you will be presented with a list of apps that can be force quit. Select your app and then click on Force Quit

Step three: Confirm your action.

Alternatively, you can hold down the SHIFT key on your Mac and then head to Apple Menu. Once you are in, you simply need to select “force quit application name” to close the app on your Mac.
