How to Import/ Export Health Data in iOS 10 on iPhone/ iPad

The stock Health app of Apple is great app that helps you keep track of your fitness. From accurately counting the steps to showing the real data like blood pressure, Health is immensely helpful


However, at times, you have to restore your iPhone to fix  bugs and you forget to back up the health data, it is certainly lost whenever your device is restored. There is the only way to back up the health data, which is to export it.

There are two ways you are able to export the health data. The first way is to get it done right from Health; the second is to do it with a third party app. Since there is no other option to import your health data, it requires using a third party app to do that. Here is how it works.

Note: The steps of exporting the health data have been tweaked a little from iOS 9.

Step 1: Open Health app on your iOS device.

Step 2: Now, select the Health Data from the bottom right corner. Tap on the Profile icon at the top right corner.


Step 3: Next, tap on Export Health Data.


Step 4: A popup will display on the screen. Tap Export to confirm


Step 5: Select the method you want to send the data such as Mail, Viber, or Notes…


Once done, it will present the data in the XML file format.


How to Export Health Data in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad

There are many third party apps, which allow you to export your health data. However, we recommend you to use QS Access app. It converts all your information into a readable CSV file.

First, you need to download QS Access from App Store

Step 1: Once downloaded, open QS Access on your device.

Step 2:  Select the columns you want to export and then tap on Create Table as the image below


Step 3: Allow ‘access’ to the data



Step 4: You will see a table of your data on the screen. Press on the Share button to export it.

Step 5: Finally, you need to tap on the app to which you want to share the data.



Using Health Importer to import Health App Data in iOS 10 on iPhone/iPad


To import the heath data into your device, you will need  the help of a third party app. Health Importer is a good choice for you. Although its price is $2.99, it is a pretty good option that can perform your tasks.


Step 1: First, open the email you sent to in Mail app


Step 2: Tap and hold down the attachment until it displays the sharing option


Step 3: Tap on “Open in Health Importer


Step 4: In Health Importer, select your data you have just imported with the data points. Tap on each data points and map it accurately. Then, tap on Save.


Step 5: Press on “Import Data to Health App”. Then, it will start importing the data from CSV file you had exported via QS Access to your Health app. Wait until the process finishes. Open the Health app, and check out the recently imported data.
