How to Install Fortnite for Android Devices

Epic Games has officially released Fortnite beta version for Android platform. However, it’s currently not available in the Google Play Store. Instead, you’ll have to install it manually. If you are eager to play Fortnite on your Android device, then here’s how to install it.

How to Install Fortnite on Samsung Devices

As Samsung Galaxy devices are lucky to be the first devices to get Fortnite, so if you are using a Galaxy phone, you can also install from the Galaxy Apps store. To begin, you have to visit from your Galaxy phone.

From there, tap on the Samsung button and you will be redirected to the Fortnite page locating at the Galaxy Apps store. Now, simply tap on the Install button to download the installer.

Once the download is successful, launch the installer. All you need is tapping on the Install button to download the full package of the Fortnite game. Since the process will require storage permissions, so you need to grant that when requested. Once the installation is done, tap on the Launch button.

The game will then open but you have not done yet. It requires another gigabyte to download installation packages. Once done, you are ready to rock and roll.

How to Install Fortnite on Other Android Devices

Samsung Galaxy phones have an exclusivity period for Fortnite. However, when the period is over, you can install the game on a number of other Android devices, simply visit here for a full list.

To do so, you also have to sideload the Fortnite Launcher.

First, you have to download the launcher. All you need is visiting and tap on the Epic button to download the Fortnite Launcher. As it is a small download, so the process won’t take long. Just pull down the notification panel and tap on the notification when it’s done.

On Android 7.0 and older versions, the process is basically the same. When tapping on the Settings button, you will be taken to the Security menu. From there, enable the Unknown Sources option. There will be a separate warning on the screen, simply tap OK. However, from then, the process will get a little fuzzier; depending on the Android version your phone is running. When the installation opens, it can be blocked by default. So you have to allow it to be installed. If there is a warning dialog, you need to cap the Settings button. You will be brought to the menu to allow apps to be installed from unknown sources.

For devices running Android 8.0 (Oreo) and above, you need to allow it for whatever browser that is being used for downloading the app. All you need is to slide to switch to the on position.

Next, tap on the back button to return to the Fortnite installer, then tap on the Install button. The installation process of the Fortnite Launcher will take a few seconds. Once done, you will have to download more than 90MB game package file by tapping on the Install button. After the game is installed, it will need a larger asset file to download for the first launch.
