However, what if you are a Mac user and you want to try it? If you would like to experience Windows 10 version, then read on this post. Here is how to easily install Windows 10 on your Mac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini.

How to Install Windows 10 on Mac

Before proceeding, you need to note some things. Firstly, remember to backup all your data. Although the process might not affect the saved data on your Mac, it’s always a good idea to create a backup in case things go wrong.

Secondly, your Mac must meet the minimum system requirements if you want to install Windows 10 on your computer:

 Minimum specs: 1 GB 32-bit (2 GB 64-bit RAM), 1 GHz or faster processor, 20GB disk space for 64-bit OS (or16GB for 32-bit) OS.

Thirdly, you should ensure the internet connection is fast enough, an empty flash drive (at least 16 GB space), 30 GB of free space on your hard drive, Windows 10 ISO file. Finally, you need to have a Mac Admin account to access Boot Camp as well as 40 GB available for upgrading from an existing Windows version. Once done, simply follow the steps below to install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp.

Steps to Install Windows 10 on Mac Devices

After you read everything above, you can take the following steps to install Windows 10 on your Mac:

Step 1: Visit Windows media creation tool and choose ‘Windows 10’ -> ‘Select Edition’ above ‘Confirm

Step 2: Select your language and confirm it

Step 3: You will see the link to download Windows 10 iso file for 32 bit and 64 bit. Choose the one applicable for your Mac (we recommend you to choose 64-bit version)

Step 4: Plug in your flash drive and press “command + spacebar” buttons to open ‘Boot Camp Assistant’ on your computer. You can also do this through ‘Finder’.


Step 5: Check all boxes if it’s your first installation or you want a clean install. Uncheck the first box if you want to upgrade from a current Windows version on your Mac.

Step 6: Select the ISO file you downloaded and set your flash drive as the destination, and click on Continue.

Step 8: When it’s done, you’ll be prompted to partition. The step is important, so you must do it carefully. Select the right amount, set 30-40 GB if you will not use this Windows 10 a lot, or expand accordingly.


Step 9: Click on Install, and wait for Windows 10 to restart a few times.

Step 10: You now have to choose where to install this Windows version. Simply click on the partition titled ‘Boot Camp’ and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 11: Enter the product key when you are asked for it. This key will be in your email sent by Microsoft after you requested Windows 10 upgrade, or you can ask your friend for a key. Windows 8, 7 users can upgrade to Windows 10 for free.

Step 12: When everything is done, you can then switch between Mac OS X and Windows 10 easily just by restarting. Press ‘option’ key to switch between them.
