While Office has been pre-installed a number of fonts, sometimes, you have to add new styles to make your texts more outstanding on your project. But, it’s pity when none of the apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint have an option for installing new fonts.

If you need to install a new style, you first download and then install the font files in the form of “.ttf” or O”.otf” on your Windows 10 computer to ensure sure that they are available to all your apps.

Steps to install new fonts in Office using Microsoft Store

To install new fonts in your Microsoft Office apps on your Windows 10 device, simply follow these steps below:

  • Launch Settings from Windows menu icon or from the search menu
  • Select Personalization.
  • Click on Fonts.
  • Choose the Get more fonts in Microsoft Store

  • Choose the font family you want to use with your Office apps.
  • Click on Get

After you complete these steps, you will see the new font in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other apps that support for system fonts.

If you have a custom font available, or you get one of the font families that are freely available from companies, follow these steps to install it on your computer

Using installer to install fonts

You simply read on these steps below to use new fonts in Microsoft Word and other Office apps:

  • Open File Explorer on your Windows computer
  • Go to the folder with the font files.

Note: If you downloaded the font in a zipped file, you need to unzip the files first before installing them.

  • Click on Install button

After you complete the steps, the new font is now available for all Microsoft Office apps. Repeat the steps to install additional styles.

Using context menu to install fonts

  • Select Personalization.
  • Click on Fonts.
  • Drag, and drop all the font files into the “Add fonts” section to install them on your computer.

Once you complete the steps, you will see the fonts available in all Office apps.
