Intel buys Recon Instruments

Oakley’s Airwave and the Recon Jet head-worn fitness wearable are two of the most famous achivements of Recon Instruments. Now Intel has decided  to acquire the Canadian firm in a deal that is rumored to worth around $175 million.  The relationship between Recon and Intel goes back in 2013, when Intel threw money into the company.

Recon Instruments can now take full advantage of its new owner’s hardware expertise, manufacturing and cash to develop more exciting devices. Recon and Intel are expected to start developing head-mounted computing in a big way. Lets wait and see what new ideas they will come up with and how they will competed with Google.
