iOS 10.2 update and everything that is new

Apple has just released iOS 10.2 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users. iOS 10.2 comes with much improved performance and some very useful features. There are new wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, 70+ new emojis, some minor adjustments to the Music app and even more.

If you are not a particular tech-savvy, the iOS 10.2 features may be a little bit overwhelming. With that in mind, we have compiled a list of what’s new in iOS 10.2 update.

  1. New emojis

With iOS 10, Apple has taken emoji to a whole new level, thereby providing users with more interesting methods to express their emotions within the messaging thread. This time, with iOS 10.2 update, Apple adds more than 70 new emojis while redesigning and updating a lot of old ones.

There’s a brand new clown face emoji, while the wolf face has been redesigned to make it look more like a wolf face. Besides, there are also new animal emojis like Duck, Fox, Squid and more.

  1. New wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

With iOS 10.2 update, Apple introduces three additional wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus only. One thing that may be interesting is that the new colors are based on the bodies of the first iMacs. In reality, you don’t need the latest iPhone models to get these new wallpapers, as you can download them from other source.

  1. SOS feature

SOS is a nice feature for iPhone that allows you to discreetly contact the police in an emergency without even taking your iPhone out of the pocket. To activate the feature on your iPhone, all you need to do is to click the Power button five times. Back in September, SOS feature was made available on the Apple Watch and you can enable it by pressing a key combination.

  1. A new Playing Splashing Screen in Music app

In iOS 10, Apple has redesigned the Music app in an attempt to make it much easier for users to play music on their iOS devices. However, the iOS 10 Music app was met with mostly negative reviews from users thanks to Apple’s decision to hide the Shuffle and Repeat buttons. With iOS 10.2 update, Apple have added a brand new plash screen which will show up the first time you enter the Now Playing screen.

  1. TV app

In iOS 10.2 update brings a daring change. From very first moment you update to iOS 10.2, you may be wondering “where is my Videos app?” In reality, Apple has removed the Videos app, instead introducing a brand new TV app, which was first demoed at Apple’s MacBook Pro launch event.

The new TV app allows you to play all your purchases from iTunes. Noticeably, the new app includes a new “Watch Now” section, a perfect place to connect all your media apps to the new TV app for a singular experience.
