Windows 10 April Update is finally here following months of beta testing. Microsoft is doing its best to improve Windows 10, adding more features and changes to offer a better user experience. Basically, Windows 10 April 2018 Update is not a significant upgrade with innovative features, however, there are a lot of exciting things you need to discover.
With Windows 10 April 2018 Update, Microsoft introduces new features while revamping the existing ones. One of the highlights of the April Update lies in the ability to share your files and links with nearby PCs. Other features include Timeline, password recovery, and Focus Assist. If you are a big fan of Microsoft Edge, you now can easily mute your tabs.
Windows 10 April 2018 Update is not a huge version, but it may take up some storage. With that in mind, we are going to walk you through the steps to free up storage space in Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Before we proceed, make sure you now have the Update installed on your machine.
The update won’t come with a built-in tool that allows you to quickly reclaim some lost space. Fortunately, Windows 10 has a feature that helps free up your space without the need for a third-party app. Here is how.
Disk Cleanup has been an essential part of Windows 10 since the day one, allowing users to quickly get some storage space. Here is how you can free up some space with Disk Cleanup
Step one: First off, search for Disk Cleanup and then open it on your computer
Step two: Next up, click the Cleanup system files button and it will scan your computer
Step three: Now just simply check the box next to Previous Windows installation(s) and hit the OK button
Keep in mind that Previous Windows installation folder contains your last Windows version, so it may take up a large amount of your storage space (the uninstalling process may take a while).
If you find the above-mentioned method annoying, then you can get some storage space via the Settings menu in Windows 10. The process is pretty simple and we will show you how in the section below.
Step one: Open Settings on your computer and then click System
Step two: Click Storage and then hit Change how we free up space automatically under the Storage section
Step three: Now just simply check the box next to the Delete previous version of Windows option and hit the Clean now button.
Keep in mind deleting previous Windows installations will prevent you from going back to your previous Windows versions, so make sure you have a backup of your computer.
