Nokia 6 to go on sale in China on January 19

Long gone are the days when Nokia phones dominated the smartphone market. Nokia’s failure led to the acquisition of the company’s Devices and Services division by Microsoft, which was completed in April 2014 as well as the discontinued sales of all Lumia phones. However, it appears that Finland-based Company returns to the phone market this year.

Earlier this week, HMD Global, the company that now has the rights to the Nokia brand, it will release first Nokia-branded Android smartphone called Nokia 6 this year and the device will be exclusively available in China, so Nokia fans will have to wait a little longer to lay their hands on a Nokia phone in other regions.  Nokia 6 is described as an upper mid-range device with aluminum unibody.


According to sources, Nokia 6 will go on sale in China on January 19, but users now can pre-order the devices at for just $9 with delivery expected to begin next Thursday. will be the exclusive retail side for Nokia’s first Android-powered smartphone.

Nokia 6 comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top and Android 7 Nougat. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Besides, Nokia 6 also includes dual amplifiers in combination with Dolby’s Atmos surround technology, promising to offer excellent sound.

In the camera department, Nokia 6 features a 16MP rear shooter with F2.0 aperture and phase detection AF. There is also an 8MP selfie snapper and Full HD video recording at 30 fps support. In terms of design, the new device sports an aluminum unibody and a home button with embedded fingerprint scanner. Nokia 6 will be priced at $245 in China. According to HMD, China is an important market where Nokia phones were once well-received by customers, so the Company expects Nokia 6 will get huge welcome from users in China.
