NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV gets new features

NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV is just couple of weeks old and the company’s 1.2 software upgrade includes support for viewing pictures in 4K, better streaming and much more.

You can now view your pictures in super high-quality using the Photos and Videos app, assuming you do have a 4K TV. The update also suggests that offers better optimazation for Netflix and Google Play Movies, while improving the the accessibility to the data in SD cards. The Remote also gets a refresh and you will now get notifications when its battery starts to die. Finally, the company promises improvements to the GameStream service, and allows you to stream NVIDIA’s library of PC games right to your home TV.

The SHIELD features an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor and pretty nice design. You can pick one up for $200 but there is also a $300 model, which packs 500GB of storage and comes with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel pre installed. In UK the device is not available at the moment. If you are in the US you can buy one from company’s own website or amazon!
