OnePlus 3 receives a new Nougat update with minor changes

OnePlus 3 serves as the true successor to the fan-favorite OnePlus 2 thanks to its new exciting features and significant changes. Last month, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus made waves by announcing that Android 7.0 Nougat would hit OnePlus 3 by the end of the year.

True to its words, earlier this month, OnePlus 3 got its first Android Nougat-based open beta OxygenOS build with several changes and features including split screen multitasking for apps, redesigned notifications, Settings menu, a direct reply feature and more. There were also new status bar icon options along with a quick launch feature.

OnePlus 3 today received the ninth beta of Android Nougat with some minor features and changes as well as some bug fixes and optimizations. The new update includes the fix for an issue of reverting to Default Theme after reboot and the fix for the lock screen clock bug in Portrait mode. Noticeably, the Android Nougat update also comes with optimized system performance, battery consumption and optimized Wi-Fi performance.

The new update will be available over the air if you have an Open Beta build of OxygenOS installed on your device. If not, all you need to do is to head to the OnePlus forum to download the update. If you follow the latter route, you are supposed to drag and drop the file you downloaded to the root of your SD card storage, head to the System update section. Once you are done, all you need to do is to select “Local Upgrade” from the gear menu in the top right corner of the screen and select the file you downloaded from the list.

OnePlus 3 is OnePlus’s strategic plan to challenge other top-tier devices including Apple iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
