Razer acquires Ouya, the Android gaming console maker

A little over a month ago, a rumor suggested that the gaming peripherals company Razer was in talks to acquire Ouya, a gaming console maker. That rumor followed a separate report that suggested Ouya needed to find a buyer in order to settle debts and be able to continue its production.  Today a new report from a bank has confirmed that Razer did indeed acquire Ouya.

Moreover, Mesa Global’s transactions website also confirmed the transaction that Razer acquired Ouya in June. The site doesn’t list any details for the deal, like how much Razer paid , but it does reveal that the transaction is final and did take place.

Now we should wait and see what are the plans of Razer and how they will use the Ouya name!
