Samsung is expecting to sell 20 million Galaxy A smartphones this year

Samsung Galaxy A series is one of Samsung’s strategic plans to attract more users. Basically, Galaxy A series of smartphones are similar to Samsung’s high-end Galaxy S series, but with lower specifications, features and prices. Samsung Galaxy Alpha was the first member in the series, as it was announced in 2014. There have been several models in the series released since then, with most recently introduced the Galaxy A(2017) featuring metal and glass build.

According to report from Samsung, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer expects to sell around 20 million Galaxy A units this year and 100 million lower-end Galaxy J units. The report comes one day following rumors claiming that Samsung is looking to sell 60 million upcoming Galaxy S8 units, much higher than Samsung’s yearly shipment numbers for some recent Galaxy S smartphones including the Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S7.

Earlier this year, Samsung finally released the 2017 version of Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 smartphones, taking several new features from the Galaxy S7 including the always-on display, water and dust resistance, much improved cameras, and increased storage.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) sports a Full HD Super AMOLED screen. Under the hood, the new device is powered by a 1.9GHz Octa-core CPU along with 3GB of RAM. It also comes with a 16MP primary camera and a 16MP front-facing snapper. Other specs include a 3.600 mAh battery, fast charging support and 32GB of internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy A5 comes with a smaller 5.2 inch super AMOLED screen which sports FULL HD resolution. Internally, there is still the same Exynos 7880 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The new device sports the same couple of 16MP cameras. The Galaxy A5 only features 3.000 mAh battery, but fast charging support is still here.

The Galaxy A3, on the other hand, sports a 4.7 inch HD display. Under the hood, there will be a slower 1.6GHz octa-core CPU along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device also comes with 2.350 mAh battery. All the three models will come in Black, Blue, Pink and Gold and be available in Russia this month.
