Sony Xperia Z5 ‘Premium’ to feature a 4K display

Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z5 might be the first smartphone with a 4K screen.

In a leaked video, released by Clubic.com,  Sony’s marketing director appears to announce that the company will release two new flagship devices. A 5.2-inch Z5 and 5.5-inch Z5 ‘Premium’ device. The Z5 Premium, the executive said, will come with a 4K screen with more than 800 pixels per inch and a 23-megapixel camera, which comes in line with earlier rumors.  The Z5 will be waterproof and dustproof as the Xperia Z3+ model,  but this time the micro-USB connector will be waterproof as well, without the need of a cover.

The Z5 will be Sony’s first phone to feature a fingerprint scanner, which will be mounted in the power button on the one side of the device. Previous rumors, suggested that both Z5 & Z5 Premium will arrive with a Snapdragon 810 SoCs, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

Sony is expected to announce both devices at IFA in Berlin later this week.

Update: The video in question has now been pulled due to a copyright claim, but there are plenty of copies still circulating on YouTube.
