Steps to block spam text messages on your iPhone

Step one: First off, you need to launch the Messages app from your home screen. Once you are done, head to the conversation you want to block

Step two: Next up, you will notice that there is a little i icon at the top-right corner of the messaging thread. All you need to do is to tap on it to proceed

Step three: From the Details screen, you simply need to tap on the name of the spam message sender located at the top

Step four: On the next screen, you will be presented with many options including Share Contact, Create New Contact, Add to Existing Contact and Block this Caller. You simply need to tap on Block this Caller and then hit Block Contact from the pop-up menu to confirm your action.

That’s it! From now on, you will no longer receive any messages and phone calls from that caller. In reality, iOS 10 also allows you to filter unknown callers and organize them into a list within your messaging app. To do this, you can head to Settings, select Messages and toggle on the switch for Filter Unknown Senders.
