While Microsoft Edge is a great web browser for Windows 10, one major drawback is that it automatically opens PDF files on your computer even if you have already installed a PDF reader.
In reality, when you click on a PDF file on your computer, it will automatically launch in Microsoft Edge, which is a little bit annoying. Luckily, you can remove the Edge as your default PDF reader in Windows 10, and select your desired PDF application.

Step one: First off, you need to open Settings on your computer. To do this, you simply need to right-click the Start and select Settings from the list of options
Step two: Once you are in, you need to click on Apps and then hit the Default Apps to proceed
Step three: Next up, scroll down a little bit and click .pdf section and then hit Microsoft Edge on the right side. After that, select your PDF reader from the list of options
Step four: Click Switch anyway to complete the task.

Step one: Locate the PDF file you wish to open on your computer and then perform a right-click on it
Step two: Next up, hover the cursor over Open With and select Choose another app at the bottom of the list
Step three: From the list of options, select the PDF application you wish to use and make sure that you check the box next to Always use this app to open .pdf files at the bottom
Step four: Hit OK to complete the task.
That’s it! From now on, Microsoft Edge will no longer open PDF files every time you click on a file.
