The Window 10 Creators Update is finally here and with it comes some new features that add up to a better user experience including Game mode, Paint 3D, Dynamic lock and even more. Basically, the Creators Update is not a significant update like the Anniversary. However, there are some small things that change what you have been accustomed to on Windows 10.
If you have just updated to the Windows 10 Creators Update, you will be happy to know that you now can disable the lock screen so you can go straight to the desktop.
In this step-by-step guide, we will run you through the steps to disable the lock screen in the Windows 10 Creators Update. Before we begin, note that the below-mentioned process only works for those who are running a Pro edition of Windows 10.
Step 1: First off, you need to right-click the Start button from your desktop and then click Search to proceed
Step 2: Next up, you now need to type gpedit and press Enter. Once you are done, perform a double-click on Administrative Templates and then double-click Control Panel
Step 3: You now need to click Personalization to reveal more options and then perform a double click on Do not display the lock screen from the right column
Step 4: From the menu that appears, you need to click Enabled and then hit Apply
Step 5: Hit OK button to complete the task.
If you are now running a Home edition of the Windows 10 Creators Update, you can disable the lock screen by editing your registry. Before we begin, note that editing your registry may put your PC at risk, so we recommend you make a full backup of your device.
Step 1: First off, you need to right-click the Start button and then click Search
Step 2: Next up, type regedit and then double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to proceed
Step 3: Once you are done, double-click Software and then Policies to reveal more options
Step 4: You now need to double click Microsoft and right-click Windows. After that, you need to click New and then hit Key button
Step 5: Enter Personalization into the input field and hit Enter. Once you are done, right-click your newly created folder and select New
Step 6: Hit DWORD (32-bit) Value from the drop-down menu and type NoLockScreen
Step 7: From the right column, you need to double-click the NoLockScreen DWORD. After that, type 1 under the Value data and hit OK to complete the task.
