With iOS 10, Apple has revamped its Messages app, making it much easier for users to communicate across all iOS devices. iOS 10 Messages app now includes full-screen visual effects ranging from a bunch of balloons to fireworks and a shooting star. However, a lot of users reported that the Reduce Motion setting prevents iMessage effects from working on their devices.
Fortunately, the latest version of iOS lets you see and send iMessage effects while the Reduce Motion setting is enabled. With that in mind, in this guide, we will show you how to enable Message effects in iOS 10 while retaining the Reduce Motion setting
Steps to enable Message effects with Reduce Motion setting enabled in iOS 10
Before we begin, make sure that you are now running iOS 10.1 or newer. It not, update your device first before proceeding with our step-by-step guide
Step one: The first thing you need to do is to launch the Settings app from your home screen. Once you are done, scroll down to General and select Accessibility
Step two: Once you are done, all you need to do now is to choose “Reduce Motion” and tap on the toggle next to Reduce Motion to enable the feature
Step three: You are now supposed to enable Message effects on your device by toggling the settings right below to the ON position
Step four: Once you are done, exit the Settings, head back to the Messages app and send Message effects as usual.
If you change your mind, you can repeat the above process and toggle the switches next to Reduce Motion and Message effects to OFF position.
