Sydney gets e-ink traffic signs

The world’s first outdoor e-ink traffic signs are now in Sydney. They are used to guide motorists during special events. Imagine the massive chore for big cities (such as Sydney) of constantly changing signs. It was the city’s roads and maritime Service agency that came up with the tech to combat this. It is call Visionect. The signs are easy to read in bright and direct sunshine. It is also powered via solar panels.

E-ink hold massive potential for signage, worldwide. It is a great way for the city to save money. The agency has also developed anti tampering and location detection tech because someone may just try to steal or hack these signs.
