  1. Disable Apps Notifications

Many apps/games can keep sending notifications. This sometimes annoys users, but more importantly, they consume battery and system resources. So, it is recommended that you should disable notifications of apps/games that are not necessary.

You can do this by heading to Access Settings > System > Notifications & Actions, select apps/games and disable their notifications.

  1. Keep your Home-Screen light by limiting number of Tiles

Live Tiles usually shows you the latest updates of apps, which means that we have to consume system resources. You should only use the Tiles which offer you essential information such as Weather, Maps. Limiting number of Tiles will help improve your phone’s general performance and navigation.

  1. Uninstall & Disable unused apps

Letting unused apps run in your device is a waste. These apps can take storage space and consume RAM by running background processes, which makes your device run slower. Therefore, we recommend uninstalling or disabling them (usually for the default apps).

You can do this by going to App List > Long Press > Uninstall. In case you cannot uninstall some apps from App list, just go to Settings > System > Storage > Device / SD Card > Apps / Games > Uninstall.

  1. Move Games / Apps to Device memory if required

Therefore, it would be better to move those games to device memory or high-speed SD card. Just head to Settings > System > Storage > Device / SD Card > Apps / Games and move.

  1. Use a High-Speed MicroSD card

If you have too many apps while the phone memory is limited, you should use a SD Card with a high-speed memory for better performance. That your MicroSD card is fast plays an important role in improving your Windows 10 Mobile device performance.

  1. Reduce or Stop Auto-Sync

Many users often use multiple mail accounts on their device in order to store, sync, send and receive messages… This requires the app to sync the latest emails, and also requires updates to install every minute, every hour. This takes lots of resources and regularly syncing may have bad impacts on system performance. You can head to Settings > Accounts > Email & app accounts to turn off the auto-sync completely or reduce the auto-sync frequency by heading to individual accounts.
