This is the new Apple TV

The new Apple TV is finally here with an all-new design an refreshed hardware and software. Tim Cook called it “the future of television,” promising a new tvOS, App Store and showing off features including deep Siri integration with a new remote.

The new TV comes with a new Siri Remote that has a touchpad, mic and motion controls. You just need to ask Siri for anything you want to watch and Siri will search across “multiple content options” (iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, HBO and Showtime, with more to come) on a single screen.

Apple claims that this is something unique but universal search is a feature already offered by competitors like Roku and Amazon. Apple also showed us a demon of upcoming apps that will be available for the new Apple TV such as the Crossy Road game and MLB app. The company announced that will also offer games that are now only available on gaming consoles such as Xbox and PS4.

Additionally, the new Apple TV will come with a much faster processor (64-bit A8 chip)  than the current generation TV and the new remote will offer up to 3 month battery life (you will be able to charge the new remote using a lightning cable).  You will also be able to use your iPhone or iPod Touch as an extra remote for multiplayer games and normal TV usage.

The new TV will be available in two versions: a 32GB model for $149, and 64GB model for $199, shipping in October to over 80 countries.
