As mentioned above, there are several ways to troubleshoot the issue on your Apple Watch like rebooting your Apple Watch, uninstall/re-install the Facebook Messenger app or turning on/off Bluetooth on your Apple Watch. However, it seems that those troubleshooting steps have not worked for a large group of Facebook Messenger users. Therefore, we going for a much simpler method.
Step one: First off, you need to launch the Facebook Messenger app from your iPhone’s home screen
Step two: Next up, you need to tap on the profile image located at the top left corner of the app. This will take you directly to the app’s Settings page where you should see an option labelled Apple Watch
Step three: Once you are done, you simply need to tap on that Apple Watch option. From the text field that shows up, you need to enter 1-2 custom replies
Step four: Finally, you have to tap on the Me button at the top-left corner of the app. Once you are done, exit the app, re-launch it on your Apple Watch and it should work properly.
