Wanna get iMessage on Android? Here is how

iMessage is among the highlights of iOS, allowing users to keep in touch across Apple devices. Apple was previously rumored to bring iMessage to Android at WWDC 2016, but it was nowhere to be found when the event took place. According to tech experts, the Cupertino company has no plan to bring iMessage to other platforms and wants to take it away as a selling point of iOS.

Luckily, there is a workaround for getting iMessage on Android. All it takes is using a third-party app called weMessage. Basically, weMessage allows Android users to get a taste of Apple’s iMessage, without paying for a new iPhone. The app includes most of the features found in iMessage like group chats, read receipts, video player, contact blocking, and emoji message.

In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to use weMessage on your Android phone. Before we begin, make sure that you now have a Mac by your side.

How to use weMessage on your Android phone

Step one: First off, you need to download weMessage on your Android device. weMessage is a free messaging app on the Play Store and you can get it now

Step two: Once you have the app installed on your device. Unlock your Mac and install weServer app on your computer. To do this, head to the Mac App Store and locate the app. If you cannot find the app, head to the Security & Privacy section and modify the setting

Step three: Once the app has been installed on your computer, follow the instructions to complete the setup. After that, launch weMessage on your Android phone and the sign in with your details

Once you are done, you now can send and receive iMessage on your Android device. However, you need to keep your Mac unlocked to make sure everything runs smoothly during the process. In reality, there are several apps that offer similar functionality, but some of them have been blocked by Apple. If you are looking for an iMessage alternative with advanced features, give SMS for iMessage App (iChat) a try.
