What’s new in Windows 10 build 15002 update

Microsoft has just released Windows 10 Build 15002 for PCs enrolled in the Fast ring. The Windows 10 Build 15002 presents a significant number of new features, improvements and bug fixes. There are a lot of new features and changes made to Start Menu, Cortana, Windows Ink and more, thereby enhancing user experience.


If you are not a particular tech savvy, Windows 10 build 15002 new features and changes may be a little bit overwhelming. With that in mind, we have compiled a list of five major features and changes inside the Windows 10 build 15002 ahead of the final build, which should be in the next few months.

  1. Start Menu

With Windows 10 build 15002, Start Menu includes the ability to create folders. Specifically, you now can group Live Titles into folders to optimize the space on your Start Menu. In reality, Microsoft once introduced folders in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, but only now that it is rolling out to the desktop version of Windows 10.

To group live tiles into folders, all you have to do is to click, drag and drop a title on top of another title and repeat the process to add another tile to the group.

  1. Capture

With Windows 10 build 15002, Microsoft adds the ability to use the Windows + Shift + S keyboard shortcut that lets you capture a section of the screen, even Start Menu, eliminating the need to take a screenshot of the entire screen. Your captured screen will then be copied to the clipboard and you can paste it into any application in Windows.

  1. Windows Share

On Windows 10 build 15002, Redmond-based tech Company introduced the Windows Share feature that replaces the old Windows 8 style flyout. Accordingly, while you are in File Explorer, Microsoft Edge or any other app, you can get the new experience by clicking the Share button. Once you are done, you will be presented with multiple sharing options like OneNote, Twitter or Mail.

  1. Lunar Calendar

With the huge update, Windows 10 now includes the support for the Simplified and Traditional Chinese lunar calendar. To enable this feature, you can head to Settings, click Time & Language and select Date & Time and choose the Show additional calendars in the taskbar option from the drop-down menu.

  1. Cortana

Microsoft’s virtual helper, Cortana is getting some improvements this time. You now use Windows + C keyboard shortcut to activate Cortana. Furthermore, on Windows 10 build 15002, Cortana also receives a number of new commands. Besides, Cortana’s Reminders now includes more recurrence options like Every Month or Every Year.
