ZTE Axon 7 mini is now available for pre-order in the US

There has been an intense competition among manufacturers in mid-range smartphone segment in recent years. On 12 October, the Chinese smartphone maker. Huawei launched Honor 8 and plans to unveil Honor 6X on 18 this month, in an attempt to strengthen its mid-range smartphone range. Another smartphone from the Chinese side, ZTE Axon 7 mini is now officially available for pre-order in the US following the launch event back in September.

However, ZTE has not specified the release date for the phone in the US, while the device was previously launched in some market in Europe. The unlocked version of the phone will be available from some retailers in the US for the price of 299.98 USD.

According to ZTE, the new phone will come in Ion Gold, which is exclusive to Best Buy stores for up to 60 days, while the Platinum Gray color version will be available from several retailers in the US including ZTE’s online store.

ZTE  Axon 7 mini serves as a smaller version of the Axon 7 smartphone, which was released on 27 July in the US. The new device sports a 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Besides, Axon 7 mini also includes a microSD support of up to 128GB of storage.

ZTE Axon 7 mini is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear shooter and an 8MP front-facing camera. There is also a non-removable 2.705mAh battery and it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Noticeably, the new device features a fingerprint reader, a USB Type-C port and dual front facing speakers.

Many retailers in the US have begun listing ZTE Axon 7 mini on sale with Best Buy expecting to sell the device starting 30 October. However, you now can pre-order the device from ZTE’s online store.

As mentioned above, last month, the Chinese smartphone maker launched the 5.5 inch Axon 7 in the US starting at 399 USD, a reasonable price that challenges top-tier smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or Apple iPhone 7. The larger 5.5 inch Axon 7 comes with a polished metal design, and powerful specs. According to ZTE, the Axon 7 will support Google DayDream VR headset like the recently-introduced Pixel-branded phones.
